Connecting Overseas Buyers for Used Car Export Business
In the used car industry, the opportunity lies in the "used car export market." Over the past three years, the number of new car exports from South Korea has been continuously decreasing, mainly due to supply chain issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, semiconductor shortages, and various external factors. For example, the annual new car export volume, which was approximately 2.5 million units in 2017, has decreased to around 2 million units as of 2021. On the other hand, the number of used cars exported from South Korea has been steadily increasing, from approximately 280,000 units in 2017 to around 460,000 units in 2021, indicating a growth trend. Furthermore, the increased recognition and improved perception of overseas buyers for South Korean used cars are considered significant contributing factors to this growth.
ByeByeCar plans to facilitate the export of used cars by connecting overseas buyers, particularly from Southeast Asia, through its platform. It aims to serve as a bridge for collaboration between partnering dismantling yards and used car dealers, facilitating their overseas export activities.
